Why did I choose Villa Tranquilo?

When I could finally afford to invest in Los Barriles in 1988 I purchased the last 2 beach front lots in the Village of Los Barriles. I knew I wanted to be in town and not north of the 2 big Arroyos due to flooding inaccessibility during hurricane season and unusable rocky beaches. The properties up north were way cheaper for a reason.

We completed our first home in 1993 then sold it in 2004 because the house was huge, and my kids and grandkids were busy with their lives, so no one was coming down. We only lasted 12 months before we were missing our Los Barriles. We got busy and designed the ‘Villa Tranquilo’ just for us. A 1,200 sq. ft wheelchair accessible, single level beauty with 2 suites and 2 baths, it was all we needed.

Almost 80% into completion, we decided to build out the entire property.  We quickly designed the main house and got it going as well. The whole project, including landscaping, was done in 18 months! To us it’s not just a house or a home but a work of art.
